“Can the Surface Pro completely replace my current desktop computer? My current computer is 8 years old, and I am sue for an upgrade. I mainly do basic task on the computer, and 90% of what I do is web browsing. However sometimes I will need office to write up important documents. Also what I need is something to watch movies on. I do not like the feel of laptops or trackpads, so I’m not interested in a laptop.” Asked by Cameron.
The Surface Pro would be a good choice for a main go to computer, especially for someone with your needs. In fact a Surface with Windows RT could possibly even replace your computer. Either computer would be good for your needs. However when it comes to storage, neither one of the computers has a hard drive over 100GB of storage. An SD card is optional, but if 90% of what you do is on the web, then you most likely will not need much.
Either tablet you choose, it will be able to handle the web, and Microsoft Office just fine. The Surface with Windows RT however, comes with Office pre-installed, unlike the Surface pro, which you will have to install yourself after purchase.
